Project Description

IntoDIGITS is an Erasmus+ funded project which seeks to improve the Numeracy and Digital Competences of low skilled adults. During the project, the six project partners from different countries (Poland, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Germany and Greece) will develop 42 digital trainer tools for the implementation of innovative workshops & activities that develop the numeracy and digital skills.

IntoDIGITS builds upon a successfully completed project EMKIT. EMKIT developed an online training tool which aims to empower low skilled adults to reach active citizenship. (AC). The concept assumes that an adult living in isolation must process through different stages to reach active citizenship; these could be first going out, doing voluntary work, gaining qualifications. The EMKIT training tool which was published in 2012 is still used in different cities. Through evaluation the partners offering the program noticed that EMKIT did not adequately tackle the numeracy and digital skills of the adults which are core for the succession from one stage to the next on the AC ladder.
Low skilled adults were the most affected by the EU financial crisis and their employment rate strongly decreased. They may need additional basic skills training but there is a lack of proper training.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

IntoDIGITS wants to fill gap of appropriate training material for low skilled adults by developing

  • 2 Qualification Frameworks (QF) for Numeracy and Digital Competences (NDC).
  • 42 workshops, based on the learning outcomes of the QF, which foster numeracy and digital skills that complement the skills learned in the EMKIT project.
  • 42 digital tools for the newly developed workshops for trainers for the development of the NDC and incorporate them in a new online tool (IntoDIGITS)
  • a digital assessment tool that will assess the numeracy and digital skills in link to the adult’s current position on the AC scale. Based on these results, the trainer/mentor can choose the appropriate workshops/activities for the trainee.
