Project Description

Do people today have what it takes to enter the job market of tomorrow?

The World of Work is changing rapidly. Automation and digitization are some of the key factors that transform and change future workplaces. Within this context, the FYC project sets out to design, develop and implement a Future of Work Framework that identifies transversal skills amongst disadvantaged job seekers. It is a complex project run by seven partners from six countries with a project implementation period of 24 months.

The main target groups include job seekers outside formal education, career guidance practitioners and employment support services, VET stakeholders (including employers), and national and European-wide guidance.

The overarching aim of this international collaboration project of major cities is to further strengthen key competencies in initial and continuing VET, whilst addressing the horizontal priorities of social inclusion and open education in a digital era.

The three core objectives of the project are:

  • to enable disadvantaged individuals to become aware of their own skills with the overall aim of enabling a sustainable future employment for job seekers.
  • to create awareness of future workplaces, their requirements, and associated VET progression routes.
  • to create a culture of training and up-skilling of guidance practitioners fast-changing labour markets.

The main deliverable to be produced are:

  • FYC framework development including the FYC tool
  • FYC online e-learning platform
  • Guidance practitioner training modules on Future of Work
  • Implementation and testing a pilot version of the FYC tool
  • Psychometric evaluation
