Project Description

The European Parliament report for 2020 on disability employment rates indicated that only 50.6 % of people with disabilities are employed, compared to 74.8% of non-disabled people. Despite the various incentives that the EU has provided for businesses, there are still many obstacles in the workplace culture that hold people with disabilities back from reaching their full professional potential.

Besides lack of adequate training and employment opportunities, factors such as learning difficulties, personal motivation and self-confidence take a toll on the low engagement of individuals with disabilities into the labour market.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic aftermath, the need for modernisation and digital transformation is proving more than ever, to be essential to ensuring a swift recovery and adaptability, while promoting equal opportunities for all young people, especially the ones with disabilities.

To that end, JOBS4ALL supports the digital transformation & modernisation of the YOUTH SECTOR, thereby increasing its effectiveness and efficiency.

The project’s aim is to enhance the resilience and capacity of institutions to manage an effective shift towards digital training with a specific focus on young people with disabilities (YPwDs), e.g. learning difficulties, Down Syndrome, Intellectual disabilities, High functioning autism (HFA) etc., aged 15+ in employability skills.

The project’s main objectives revolve around the purposeful use of digital technologies in Youth, the development of digital pedagogy, as well as the empowerment of digital confidence needed by YWs/professionals & expertise in using digital tools.

Furthermore, JOBS4ALL pioneers the integration of emerging technologies such as serious games with the use of Virtual Reality (VR) equipment based on real-job scenarios in order to facilitate the YPwDs’ introduction into the labour market.

The project will therefore:

  • provide experiential, interactive & hands-on training approaches supported by blended activities, based on the creation of EMPLOYMENT HUBS.
  • design a POLICY ADVOCACY PACK for the labour market to successfully integrate people with disabilities in their work contexts.
  • strengthen employability skills & familiarise with emerging technologies to meet the needs of the digital era.
  • address the challenges they face in seeking employment, e.g. lack of personal confidence, lack of training & professional opportunities, by empowering their needs and fostering EQUAL ACCESS to the labour market
  • upgrade the innovation related-training programmes, thereby an inclusive engagement programme and workplace culture would be achieved.

JOBS4ALL is expected to produce the following results:

  • Mapping out the employment scene for YPwDs and the provision of high-quality training programmes.
  • Dual capacity building training for youth and businesses.
  • The design of the digital Jobs4All Portal: Job Simulations, e-learning and Employment Network.
  • From theory to practice: Setting up the employment hubs and advocation for social inclusion.
