Project Description

On a national and on a European level the implementation of lifelong learning strategies is promoted as a successful strategy to empower the people. But how does it work on a local level? How does it work with groups of disadvantaged people such as migrants, older people, volunteers, Roma, unemployed, women? An in-depth knowledge in terms of exchange of experience would be helpful for assessing and unlocking the potential of local employment development strategies.

The project focuses, therefore, on the empowerment of local people through lifelong learning strategies as a method within the local employment development. Our main goal is the exchange of experience in empowerment methods through lifelong learning approaches in metropolitan areas.

Within this project we want to learn from different successful local approaches and new pilot projects:

  • Neighbourhood management
  • Education counselling and mobile education counselling
  • Outdoor training for under-educated or unemployed adults
  • Methodology for education and skill balance
  • LLL training for local employment agents
  • Innovation agent
  • Districts Training plans for unemployed people

Project objectives

Our objectives are:

  1. Learning from the exchange of experience and information in empowerment methods through local LLL approaches
  2. Learning from the experts on local level who implement the national LLL strategies
  3. Explore the special character of the approaches, with an additional focus on “identification-learning”
  4. Identification of success factors
  5. Raising awareness.
