FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JANUARY 11th, 2021
NICOSIA, Cyprus – Funded by the Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (AMIF), the 2-year-long MINGLE project came to its conclusion last month with a fascinating international conference.
On December 15th, The ten partners from five countries involved in the project presented (via Zoom) their experiences, challenges and accomplishments during the MINGLE journey. This included cultural workshops, training sessions and mentoring pairings that generated new interactions between locals and recently arrived migrants.
The unique project aimed to build trust in a diverse society through the conjecture that integration goes beyond having a job. MINGLE aimed to prove that frequent interaction between Member State Citizens and newly arrived Third Country Nationals (TCN) is fundamental for integration and active citizenship in the society.
Keynote speeches were given by the mayors of Nicosia (Cyprus), of Larissa (Greece) and of Santander (Spain).
During the conference, the participants also heard testimonies from trainers, mentors and Third Country Nationals on their Mingling and mentoring experience.
As a bonus, the consortium sent MINGLE face masks as gifts to all participants.
